Michael and Barbara in the shop
Blustons is a ladies wear shop which has been part of the Kentish Town Road in London for over 75 years. To enter the shop is to step back in time. Much loved by its customers and even those who never shop there, Blustons is now unique and has become an institution.
Michael is the grandson of the original Blustons, and Barbara his long-time assistant. Together they look back over their lifetimes in the shop and speculate about the future. This film takes a fond look at a disappearing corner of London and captures it as it slips into history.
Blustons was screened in the Canary Wharf Film Festival, the Tiscali Short Film Competition at Montecatini, Italy and at the Green Note Cafe in London.
