Tree-lined landscape by Colin Roberts, showing at Kew Gardens

The International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition is currently showing in Kew Gardens and is running until 26th September.

The six categories of photos are plant portraits, garden views, wildlife in the garden, people in the garden, the edible garden and trees.  The shot above by Colin Roberts is showing in the ‘trees’ category.  There are some stunning shots on show – inspiration for photographers and gardeners alike.

I just love the two shots below of people seeking out green and serene spaces in the midst of city life.

Tai Chi by Victor Korchenko

The above was taken in Beijing near the Forbidden City and beautifully shows how personal space and freedom can be found in a crowded place.

Lawnmower Man by Johnny Jetstream

This was taken in Berlin, and shows a modern solution to the overheating and overuse of resources typically associated with cities.
