Twilight Tours of Apsley House

Apsley House was the home of the first Duke of Wellington and also glories in the name ‘No 1, London’, quite an address!  The Duke lived here after his victory over Napoleon at Waterloo and the house is preserved pretty much as it was when he lived here in the early 19th century.

The house is now run by English Heritage and on Wednesdays during October, they are opening the house as they say ‘with the curtains drawn and the chandeliers twinkling’ when you can ‘enjoy the sumptuous interiors and stunning collections of Apsley House as you have never seen it before.’

The Twilight Tours are from 6 – 9pm

  1. Thanks so much for this – Apsley House is one of those places I keep thinking ‘I should put that English Heritage Life membership to use and go there soon’ but still haven’t gone. Now you have given me even more reason to get organised! It looks wonderful.

    • It is easy to get lazy once you have the life membership organised! These evening tours sound well worth the effort though.
