Shelter in Place

Shelter in Place

Investigative Film Week is a relative newcomer to the film festival scene, this being it’s second year.  Hosted by the Centre for Investigative Journalism, it offers the chance to see some of the best investigative films from around the world over five nights, followed by Q&A’s with the film makers talking about how they made the films.   The films include Shelter in Place directed by Zed Nelson, which examines the effects on local residents of the millions of tons of toxic pollutants regularly released by petro-chemical plants in Texas.  Screening on Tuesday 8th March 6.30pm.

Also showing is The Micro Debt by Tom Heinemann, which explores the complicated truth behind micro finance and asks if it is always a force for good.  Screening on Friday 11th March 6.30pm
