Save the Hitchcock 9

blackmail by Alfred Hitchcock

In need of rescue - 'Blackmail', directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Alfred Hitchcock is undoubtedly one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, yet 9 of his silent films are at risk of being lost due to natural degradation.  The BFI is currently raising funds to save these national treasures and you can donate here.

The films waiting to be rescued include the London thriller, ‘Blackmail’, which was shot both on location and in the studio in 1929.  Locations include the British Museum, Whitehall, and the Lyons Tea House at Piccadilly Circus.
