Hidden London – Where is This?

A roof top statue, but where is it?

This is a statue on the roof of the Covent Garden Apple Market.  Until 1974, Covent Garden was the site of London’s main fruit and vegetable market, which had begun in the 1650’s.  The building now on the site was designed by Charles Fowler in 1830 to replace the disorganised tumble of wooden stalls and sheds that had occupied the market.  The Apple Market now houses craft and antique stalls, cafes, and often several forms of street entertainment!

Covent Garden, WC2E 8RF.
