London: Portrait of a City

London. Portrait of a City
This beautifully produced pictorial history of London takes you through five chronological sections from Victorian times to the present.  Many of the photos will be new to even seasoned London-ites and include works from David Bailey, Cecil Beaton, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Terence Donovan, although many of the pictures are the works of photojournalists highlighting London’s murky underbelly.  The images come with excellent text and references, all laid out in a lovely, uncluttered manner.
