Eel Pie Island is the subject of a new exhibition opening tomorrow, 1st August, in the Orleans Gallery in Twickenham.  The exhibition is part of a project, which includes, gigs, talks, book and a new film, all focusing on the musical history of the Island:

  • “In the early 1960s, Richmond and Twickenham became the focal point of English R&B. Two key venues were the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond and the Eel Pie Hotel Club, located on a small island in the River Thames in Twickenham.”

Don’t forget Hidden London’s film ‘Eel Pie and Blues’ about the history of Eel Pie Island, available on DVD.

The exhibition runs to 29th September.
