New Roof Garden at John Lewis

John Lewis roof garden

To many Londoners, a trip to Oxford Street wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the John Lewis department store. Perhaps not as famous as some of its neighbours, but something solid and reliable in these changing times.  Well, the store is 150 years old this year and to celebrate, John Lewis on Oxford Street has opened London’s newest roof garden.  It will  be open throughout the summer, there’s a café there and it will feature film nights and pop-up restaurants.  There’s also an exhibition on the store’s 3rd floor showing how John Lewis would have looked 150 years ago, with a Victorian street and shop front.  A good way to relax during the current heatwave perhaps!

John Lewis roof garden, Oxford Street.  Open 10am – 4pm (Sundays from 11.30am) until 31st August 2014.
