We’re Reading…Lost London 1870 – 1945 by Philip Davies

Published originally in 2009, this book remains a must for any Londonphile.  Using an incredible archive of photographs from English Heritage, the book explores what London was like before the major redevelopments of the 20th century.  It is a spectacular and fascinating record of some amazing architecture, but it is the people (many looking straight at the camera), who are often the most haunting.
