Different World

A Different World

Colin Cook is a clerk at London’s Inns of Court, one of the country’s most venerable institutions. But as a black senior clerk, Colin is highly unusual, standing out in a bastion of tradition and old fashioned ceremonial practice.

In this personal portrait, Colin tells how he faced prejudice as well as his own sense of alienation when he first arrived at the Inns. But he also describes how he found a niche for himself, and the changes he has seen over nearly 30 years in the business.

A Different World was nominated for Best Documentary awards at the Wood Green Festival, London and the Pentedatillo Film Festival, Italy.

Total running time: 10 minutes
